I am not a political person, meaning I don't follow the candidates and watch EVERYTHING that I can on them and all the issues. I really just stick to my party affiliation because I know what they stand for and the issues that ARE important to me. I am not really excited about this years choices, I was excited about this guy, but as you all know he did not make it. 2012 anyone????
I really get uncomfortable when politics comes up. It is such a sticky and personal subject that most of the time everyone has their own thoughts and opinions. Fights ensue. I HATE confrontations like no other, and that is how I look at it. I did grow up where my Dad was into politics and let it be known that we all need to do our part and get out there and vote ASAP. Once I turned 18 I was excited to vote and I really do think that everyone should. I firmly believe that if you don't do anything, getting out there and voting, then you have no right to complain about our leaders or issues that are passed. You didn't try to do anything about it.
That said, please get out there and vote today. There is one particular Proposition for those that live in California. Proposition 8. Vote YES and save Traditional Marriage. I hate to bring this up on my blog because it is a sticky subject but I feel really strongly about it and this blog is my journal. If I didn't talk about it here, then I would be leaving out a HUGE part of what is going on in our lives right now. It has been really crazy here in California with this Prop. Picketers on every corner, phone calls, door to door, signs everywhere, many lengthy discussions. It is a little funny to me that most of the picketers that I have seen with "no" signs are kids that are not able to vote.
Get out there and vote today! ROCK THE VOTE. I am always proud to get my "I voted" sticker and display it to all, just don't ask me what my political views are it will scare me away :)

Ditto.
I voted today, my older boys went with me and my Dad commented that by taking them it is a great example that voting is important.
I voted! I love the sticker, too! I really wish I could vote in California...I'm praying for prop 8, though!
I voted too! I'm very much like you. I guess being around my Dad too much sort of got me sick of politics. I hate talking about what if's and this guy is satan and more nonesense. I love my Dad but goodness. You can't control what's going to happen. I hate talking about it. I know what I believe I don't like to talk politics. I know it's very important to vote. If someone asks me how I feel I'll tell them but I'm in no way able to tell them they should vote my way. So why bother arguing? YOu aren't going to change there mind. Anyways...just wanted to let you know I agree with you and that we are very much alike in this aspect!
I'm sorry that it's been so hard in CA. I have friends on both sides of this issue - friends I love dearly. Too bad here in Utah we only had to decide whether or not we give more money to the zoo.... I'm looking forward to 2012 - let the promises begin and if they don't, we've got just the clean up batter! You are cute mom - 'retire' for the evening. (:
