Santa presents poll.

For the last 8 1/2 years there has been a debate going on in this house. Apparently Santa leaves presents in different places in different households. We have been trying, and I stress the word trying, to decide where to tell Santa to put his presents. This is important! Apparently. As everyone knows, Santa only comes to a house with kids in it, so we never had to worry about this until now.

As not to get anyone to side with me on this debate I will not tell you where I stand on this issue. But I will tell you the two choices that you have. These are the two places that we are trying to decide (and if you ask Brett it is already decided but we won't go into that).

1. Santa leaves his presents under the Christmas tree.

2. Santa leaves presents on the couch, in the room where the fireplace is.

I will not go into more detail than that so that you can't figure out where I stand on this. So please tell me where YOU stand on this.

Update: The presents are ALWAYS wrapped. That is not up for discussion.

Santa definately leaves his presents under the tree.

well in my household it was near the fireplace...but between these two options ( and knowing that neither of us has fireplaces) it would DEFINITELY be under the tree!

by the way, have you gotten into the debate about what type of wrapping to use, or even if to wrap santas presents? that is a whole other debate !!

I'm voting for under the Christmas tree. Actually, my mother used to spread the presents all around under the tree, in an effort to look like there were thousands of presents. It worked when I was a kid, and worked when Erin and Cale were kids, too. However, ALWAYS the last, biggest and best present was "forgotten" and could be found "somewhere", usually behind the couch or a chair, or in another room. Have a wonderful Christmas no matter where your presents are found!

Ours are on the couch, not wrapped. There are 8 kids in my family and 6 in Bryan's so I don't think there has ever been room under the tree for the gifts, so luckily there hasn't been a discussion about that. Sometimes Bryan asks if the Santa gifts are getting wrapped and I tell him he can wrap them (he is NOT a present wrapper, I am, so why wrap more than I have to).

Please let post about what happens (like I really have to ask that but just in case you were wondering, I want to know where the presents end up).

Santa always left our presents near the fireplace. So that is where Santa leaves ours. And when I was a kid Santa never wrapped. But Santa and I had a discussion and now they are always wrapped along with EVERYTHING in the stocking even candy. Lucky for us our tree is next to our fireplace. So Santa won't get too confused!!
Good luck!!

So what did you end up doing?

Our Santa doesn't wrap presents, and has them all set up (for instance the car racetrack all put together, out of the box, or the new legos built into a big tower) ... and they're in the same room as the tree, but not UNDER the tree. Which in this house, isn't in the same room as the fireplace.

I'd like to vote, but you already know where I stand on this since I'm Brett's sister! I think my vote would let everyone else know where you and Brett stand on this issue. Put me down for the same side as Brett! Sorry!

Ours were always on or in front of the couch unwrapped, with the full stocking placed with it.
