Have you ever seen the movie You've Got Mail ? Well there is a scene in there where Meg is emailing Tom and at the end of her email she says " I really don't want an answer to this, I just want to send this out into the void." That is what I want to do. I am just putting this out here so that I can remember and have a reference if Gweniveve or any other girls we have ask and want to know.
Pregnancy Symptoms with Gweniveve July 2006 - March 2007
- Threw-up everyday, starting at 2 months (which is when I found out I was pregnant), sometimes more than that, for the first 5 months. Smells, looking at some foods, or just plain nauseousness caused me to. I mainly had problems around dinner time.
- About the time I started to feel better my hips starting to hurt. They were trying to expand and I would have to sit all day and not lay down because if I did then I would not be able to sleep that night for the pain in my hips. I "saved" my hips for the night.
- Around 5 months or so (can't remember exactly) I started to get Panic Attacks. This runs in my family and I have had them since High School but these were really bad. I had one everyday of the rest of the pregnancy and no matter what I said to myself, to try to calm down, it did not help. I was just so scared of giving birth, the unknown is what always scares me, I could not stop the attacks. This was one of the worst things, I pray that none of my kids get this gene from my side of the family, it is HORRIBLE.
- At 6 months I got Heartburn. Not just any normal heartburn, that I could have taken Tums for, it was the worst pain ever. To help me from not crying in pain all the time, I stopped eating lots of food and would eat dinner at 4:00pm with nothing to eat after that. Even water killed me. I had to sleep sitting up and even with all of that I still had heartburn but it was not terrible pain if I slept that way and stopped eating at 4pm. The pain was so bad I did go to my doctor and get a prescription (and you know how I am sooo against pain meds when I am preggers, but the pain was that bad). I took the medicine for a couple of weeks and it didn't make a difference so I stopped taking it. The heartburn did not go away until I gave birth.
Pregnancy Symptoms with Penelope March 2009 - November 2009
- I immediately knew I was pregnant. I started to burp all the time at 2 weeks, which was a symptom I had with Gwenie.
- I immediately started to feel the most craziest exhaustion ever at 3 weeks. I was unable to do anything for the first 4 months. Brett says to people when they ask how I am, " Well she doesn't leave the couch" Which of course is not totally true but it gives you a great picture of how much the exhaustion was taking out of me.
- Had bleeding and cramping for a weekend when I was 9 weeks.
- Nauseous all the time, gagged alot. I had to eat dinner by 5 or otherwise I was sick the rest of the night. Smells, the thought of some foods or just looking at some foods (especially food commercials) would make me gag and sometimes throw up.
- Threw up 7 times, but one of them was in Target as I was passing the pet food isle and the swine flu was huge in the news and everyone starred at me! I started to clean it up while telling everyone I do not have the swine flu, I am just pregnant. Totally embarrassing, most everyone laughed when I told them the story. Needless to say I didn't go to Target for a long time.
- Had the worst gas pains ever the first 3.5 months.
- Fainted all the time. Black-outs for a couple of minutes or less. Most of the time I made it to the floor or couch (one time Bretts arms) before I totally blacked out.
- Dizziness, light headiness. Especially if I was sitting or laying down and got up fast.
- Insomnia
- I have a hard time breathing. My doctor said I had pregnancy congestion which takes over your lungs and nasal cavity. No wonder I can't breath.
- Headaches. My doctor said I am getting them because of my nasal congestion.
- 20 weeks (5 months) hips started to hurt so no more naps and sleeping was not easy.
- 23 weeks Heartburn set it. I am chewing gum after dinner until bed time and eating tums and sleeping sitting up. So far it has not been as bad as with Gwenie, but that might be that I know to stop eating after dinner and what I shouldn't eat for dinner (no salsa or anything with lots of bread).
- 26 weeks I got Bronchitis. I was put on antibiotics for 5 days and coughing up a storm.
