Discuss Mockingjay.....

So I just finished this book which is the final installment of the series by Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games. I don't want to spoil it for anyone so I thought the best way for a bunch of us to discuss it would be here in the comments so that those that want to discuss it can and those that haven't read it yet won't see any spoilers by me if I were to discuss it here in the post.

So PLEASE PLEASE I am dying to discuss this with you all and thought this would be a great way to do it so that a bunch of us could discuss it at once and not one on one. Tell me what you thought and then come back to read what others say. Lets Discuss......

I will start by saying I LOVED LOVED the Hunger Games and Catching Fire but HATED Mockingjay. Katniss was just not likable in this book at all. I hate that she had no feelings and hated each of the boys (Peeta & Gale) at one time or another and at both together. Seriously Suzanne couldn't you have figured out the readers would hate that. Choose already. Nothing was redeemable in this book. I mean Finnick and Ann finally get together and then he dies to dumbly. couldn't he have lived and gone back to help Ann and be with Ann?? There was so much about this book I didn't like and what was with Katniss looking like a MUTT in the end? Was that necessary? NO. I know Suzanne at the end has Katniss and Peeta together but it wasn't really a happy ending and that was worse since the book was so depressing with everyone dying. ARG.

I have to say that I didn't actually read mockingjay. My friend read it and sausage wasn't sure how she felt about the book yet. Something kind of crazy about me is I will NOT read a book if it is too sad or depressing. Not only nooks but I apply this to movies as well. I much rather have the book or movie spoiled for me to find out if it is going to be sad rather invest toms of hours reading the book and then being disappointed later....so I went on wikipedia and read the entire plot. First off, very happy she ended up with peeta. I was always on team peeta so I was happy a out that but other than that the book sounds so horrible. I am not sure how much of a spoiler I should add but there is one point in the book that is so ridiculously horrible I just refuse to read the book. It basically makes both the first and second books totally pointless (primm). I can't believe that Suzanne Collins could make the last book end so horribly. It makes me regret reading the first books. I am seriously so disappointed. I don't even think I am willing to read anything else she writes.

Don't you just love autofill? I love how it wrote "sausages" when I meant to type something else. Gotta love typing on your phone, lol. Sorry. Hope you were able to understand most of what I was trying to say.

I didn't hate it but I expected it to be different. I thought I would love the characters more. I was so disappointed that Primm died. I did like the killing of the President.

I didn't like this book at all. And I was so anxious to read it after how much I enjoyed the other two. It was just kind of a letdown for me. I thought the "happy ending" was "too little, too late"...kind of like throwing something at the last minute. Interesting to read that others didn't like this book either. So disappointed.

I didn't love it or hate it. I thought it was a little violent. I think the happy ending was too little too late. I was all about Peeta but then I kind of got sick of Katniss and wished a little she had died for the cause instead of Primm. But all and all I enjoyed it. I learned long ago to have low expectations with books that way I don't get mad when I read the whole thing and I don't like it.

I just finished this book...minutes ago!...
I am the same as the rest of you...i didn't hate it...didn't love it. I found myself crying through the whole book! Seriously! I guess having three long books..and dragging them out so long is my excuse!! I was so happy that she ended up with Peeta, but agree...it was a little too late for happy endings. I wanted her to be with Peeta because she wanted to!! I think the author really could have ended the book better--and like i say found this book way too depressing to enjoy it.
Sigh! So sad...it could have been so much better!!!
