The End - day 28

So sad but true. It is the end of A Month of Mornings. Erin and I decided to have a picture of all of us as a goodbye. We have had tons of fun and are going to continue to challenge eachother with occasionally texting each other with surprise pictures of the day.

I am getting my picture up so late since right after I took it we had to run to the car to go to the doctors. Penelope's eczema is TERRIBLE. We know what to do for eczema since Brett has had it his whole life and has seen numerous amounts of Dermatologists and they all tell him the same thing and we have done all of that with Penelope but is is just not getting better. So we got a prescription which we were hoping to avoid since it has steroids in it. Looks like I will be taking Penelope to a Dermatologist just to make sure there is nothing else to do for a baby who has eczema.

I also got these good ones of the girls this morning.

on a ride - day 28

Didn't get enough of driving with the top down yesterday with Brett (pics of that to come later today) so I took the car out by myself this morning for a little bit. Heaven.

On to Plan B - day 29

I decided to make a quilt for my bed. Brett loves the quilts that I make a wanted one for the bed and I was SOOO excited. Now to be honest the largest quilt I have made is only a twin so to make a California King size one will be interesting, but I am up for it. I started making the quilt yesterday and was so happy with the outcome of the first block. I wanted to make Wonky (which means that nothing meets up and it looks lopsided) Bento Box Quilt. I finished the first block and was so loving it. It is 24" x 24" and I knew that I would need to make a lot of them to make a King. I pulled it out this morning to show Brett and...........he hated it! Here was our conversation:

Brett "What is with it all not matching up???"

Darci " It is called wonky, it is supposed to look like that."

Brett " Ah no it is supposed to match up just like your other quilts."

Darci "No, I wanted to make a wonky quilt this time."

Brett " I don't like it."

On to Plan B.

Now I am off to call my bro as I had a really bad dream about him last night and I am in need of a phone call. I was crying hysterically in my dream since he was in the hospital, I even woke up crying. IT WAS AWFUL.

Cleaning - day 26

Last night I did not do the dishes since Brett & Gwen wanted me to play Mario Kart with them. I gave myself a break. I knew today would be cleaning day anyway. I do hate coming downstairs in the morning with the dishes not done, but sometimes you need a break. Penelope is still sleeping so I am off to clean the bathrooms, then dust and clean the kitchen. When she wakes up then I can vacuum. Here's to a clean house.

Mater

Gwen has asked for a CARS birthday consistently for a week now so I am finally going to commit. I am going to attempt to make her a Mater car cake since that is what she wants and I have looked online for some tips and I am doing it with no mold and going to try to be very creative. We will see. Don't hold me to it if it completely fails. I am not my Mom (wish I was though, that lady can do anything).

Bath - day 22

Today we have alot to do. First off is to take Penelope to her 4 month check-up! We are dying to see how much she weighs since we know that she is bigger than Gweniveve was at her age, she is just such a better eater. Gwenie wanted to take a bath before we went and asked for bubbles today. Good thing since I have to get ready and I can do that while I watch her in the bath, much easier to do since Penelope is still sleeping.

Mario Kart - day 21

Since Penelope and I are still sick we are hanging out and playing Wii. Hopefully I can get alot of rest today since Monday Brett will be back at work. When I am sick, more than other times, I really wish that he didn't have to work. Wouldn't that be great?

My Bedroom - day 17

This painting was supposed to be hung above my couch but it did not look good there much to my disappointment. I picked out this photograph and asked my Mom to paint it since I love her paintings and I much prefer to have real art in my house, so it is my fault that I thought it would look good. Good thing this morning I thought to hang it above Brett's dresser and it looks great! I added one of my favorite vases to the mix and we are all set, now I just need to get some flowers in the vase.

Thanks Mom so much for taking the time to paint this picture for our birthday's it really is beautiful.

Making Pillows - day 16

I started to make the pillows for my couch that I have been needing to make for a long time. I have made alot of progress just need to add the finishing touches to the 3 that are stacked and then all the scraps in front is the last pillow ready to be sewed together. Hopefully I can get them done today!

A date with a hammer - day 15

Bokeh was my theme today and if you don't know what that is here is the definition: is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur,in out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light."

I had a whole other idea for a picture today but I could not get it to work which is something I HATE. I hate having an awesome idea and then it not turning out so here you go I took a picture of my hammer since it is downstairs waiting for me to hang up all the pictures that go in our family room. We still have not hung everything up since we got it painted and the room looks really bare.

Randomness - day 14

I thought I would take a picture of something random that is in our house, well outside our house. For our hose in the backyard there is the cutest little turtle. Gwenie & I love him. Sometimes homes have fun little details that are interesting to find out.

The Morning Stretch - day 13

Every morning when Penelope wakes up I un-wrap her from being swaddled and she lays in bed and stretches for a long time. She is the happiest in the mornings when she first wakes up, it is one of my favorite times.

Frustrated - a month of mornings day 11

I am frustrated today because I worked on a project yesterday and it did not turn out the way I wanted it to so as I eat my breakfast I am un-picking it. I am going to try one more time to get it the way I want it to, hopefully it will work out. I even faded my picture so that you could feel my gloominess.

This morning - a month of mornings day 9

This is us almost every morning, another post on keeping it real. The only exception is that Gwen brought all of her Sesame Street friends downstairs, usually it is just Elmo. Looking at this picture reminds me that I REALLY need to sew new pillows.

Sisters - a month of mornings day 7

Gwen always wakes up for the day before Penelope. So when Penelope does wake up Gwen hears her cry and shouts that LP is up and runs upstairs with me and climbs in bed with her. I open the curtains and then get Penelope out of bed. They both then love to look out the window. They can be so cute together and sweet. Gwenie really does love having LP in her life. Today Gwen was dressed up in her Superhero cape that Erin makes at Plum Pear Apple, everyday Gwen dresses up as something different. Today she was flying all over the house with her cape and even talked Brett into holding her so she could really fly.
