My braces are off

It is about time huh? 6 1/2 years of my life have been dedicated to them and that is way to long.

You know you are old when....

You get Tendinitis when you are in your 20's and you have to type with one hand and have problems doing everything that you need to do being a mom and have to wear this:

And this, because you had a dumb boyfriend once who had you on piggy back and ran fast through a doorway, your knee connected with the frame. You have to wear this to Disneyland and to walk for long distances:



When you are always saying, " I can't do that because it will hurt my back", " I can't open this, can you?" Yada Yada.

I mean really, what happened to things just rolling off of you when you are young. I swear I am young, but not when this stuff stops me from doing things. It is so frustrating.

Brett and I laugh sometimes because he has to wear braces on his shins because he gets shins splints and can't run or play the sports that he wants to play, let alone his favorite snow boarding. He has wrist problems because of a aliment that he has (that is a whole nother story) and elbow problems and major back issues, he sleeps with a heating pad on his back every night. There has not been a night in our marriage when he hasn't iced his wrists and back, even Gwenie knows how to get a ziplock bag out and fill it with ice for Brett. (Really funny the first time she did it, this girl misses nothing)

You just have to laugh and tell yourself that you are not young anymore. Sad but true.

Let the pain begin!

I just wanted to let you all know that I am all decked out in the braces and ready to start this process. Don't be shocked when you see me.

Next is getting 2 teeth pulled, yuck.

Yes, you heard it right. I am 28 years old and I am going to be brace face. The time has finally come, it has been in the works for years. (Law school slowed the process) Ironic enough Gwenie started teething this week just as I got spacers in, so we are both complaining about teeth pain. Something to laugh about, poor Brett.

Don't expect to see me in pictures for the next 2 years, but who am I kidding I TAKE all the pictures so I am never in them anyway. Maybe that was part of my plan with buying the new camera? Brett will not even touch it, so it is all up to me.hehe.

The next two years are going to be crappy, but it will be worth it. I have to repeat that to myself, it is going to be worth it, maybe I will believe it. I can't eat anything, and I don't need to lose weight so it is not a benefit. I can only think ahead to the time they are pulled off and I will finally like my smile. I really hope this means less time in the Dentist chair. *SMILE* I have been told that this process will eliminate alot of my teeth issues, and boy, do I have TONS of those. I have been plagued with bad teeth from the cradle. I am not even joking on that. The few times I have cried have ALL been in the dentist chair, dentists hate me.

As a pick me up I changed the look of the blog while Gwenie took a nap today. I am really happy with the header, I am in the mood for red. Plus I thought with fall coming it would be great fall colors. I took that picture of Gwenie with my blog title (just a peek) in the back of my mind. I know you were all surprised that I kept my last template for so long, usually I change it every week. I was really happy with the last one, it took a long time to get tired of it. Don't be surprised to see me back in action.
