Kami's Birthday

Well we made Kami's birthday as fun as possible since she had just got out of the hospital. We tried to pamper her. Gwenie blow dried her hair and then I curled it.

Then I made her a cake that was Gluten-free and Soy free. Since she is intolerant to both.



I called it Chocolate Candy Bar Cake and here is the recipe if you would like to make it. It is really yummy.

Mom & Dad gave her the Dutch Oven from Le Creuset that she had been dying for.

It was a fun and relaxing day.

Gweniveve is 3

• she is very affectionate, always wants hugs and kisses
• she has been a busy girl since she was in the womb

• she takes the corner of her blanket and poke her eyeball (very weird huh?)
• she has always been a tomboy, she loves cars, balls, sports, action figures. Hence the CARS birthday.
• she is not shy, she gets nervous, but not shy. She walks up to just about anyone to talk to them.
• She is one tough cookie
• She has had torticollis, hip dysplasia, broken leg, multiple black eyes, dislocated elbow and we know that is not the end.

• She remembers EVERYTHING. It is amazing.
• She HATES getting her nails/toenails cut. She screams bloody murder.
• She has loved Elmo since she was one years old and has had her favorite Elmo for 2 years and he is always by her side.
• She calls my Dad Papa Helen. It is hilarious. (she calls my Mom Grandma Helen so that we know the difference between my parents and Brett's parents)
• She can already spell her last name.
• She loves her LP.

Mater

Gwen has asked for a CARS birthday consistently for a week now so I am finally going to commit. I am going to attempt to make her a Mater car cake since that is what she wants and I have looked online for some tips and I am doing it with no mold and going to try to be very creative. We will see. Don't hold me to it if it completely fails. I am not my Mom (wish I was though, that lady can do anything).

Brett's Birthday

I need to post some real posts so that I am not far behind once A Month of Mornings is over. Brett turned 31 the beginning of this month. It was a Saturday and I got all of us girls dressed up for the ocassion.

Brett's parents watched the girls and we went to go and see Avatar in 3D. It was a very pretty movie and the story was cute. Then all of us went out to eat at Wood Ranch BBQ.





We came back to Brett's parents and opened presents. The coolest present was the Mario blanket that Kami crocheted for Brett. Isn't it really cool??? Gwenie really loves it.



I made Brett the cake that he wanted as is our tradition and Gwenie helped him blow out the candles. She loves birthdays and sings the happy birthday song all the time.

Birthday weekend

Brett and I got to get away for a long weekend for our birthday's. It was so nice to know the girls were in good hands with my Mother in law and that they were having fun with her.

We stayed in a really nice hotel, the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. Our hotel had an awesome view from the balcony.

Here we are on our balcony. We really loved our balcony. It was so nice to have a great view of the beach and to enjoy it.



We went to our favorite resturant, The Melting Pot, for both of our birthdays and it was really nice to sit and take our time.



We came home on my birthday and both of the girls didn't leave my lap for most of the day.



Brett made me my favorite cake, as per our tradition. This photo you can really see that I am keeping it real. The house was a mess and the trash needed to be dumped!



Gwenie has really loved birthdays lately and can sing the whole birthday song by herself. She helped me blow out the candles. The minute I got home she ran up to me and said Happy Birthday Mommy! It was the best present.



Thanks again to my Mother in law for watching the girls and to Kami for coming and helping her out on Saturday.

Gweniveve is 2

Remembering.....

4 Days old. I took these when she had jaundice and I laid her in the sun. These are 2 of my favorites and to think I didn't have my nice camera back then and I got these great ones!!!





A week old....poor thing had jaundice so bad her face is yellow. She loved to be swaddled.



2 months. I was taking a ton a pictures for her baby announcement and this one was soo cute. She always had her hand by her mouth.



Erin did a little photoshoot for me when we were over at her house. To look at these pictures you wouldn't think that Gwenie was a crabby baby who cried hysterically because she had colic sooooo bad and my breast milk was poison to her, figured that one out much later :(



Such cute little baby feet.



This picture "thinking in the bath" still cracks Brett and I up. 3 months old and she still fit in the kitchen sink.....can't believe that she was that tiny.





Still one of my favorites, she was such the poser.



We showed our love for the Angels early on.....She loved her rally monkey!!



6 months old....where did the time go??




We love you tons Gwenie!!!!! You crack us up all the time and are so much fun. Always remember that we love you and that we are so happy to have you in our family. Much Love to you cutie pie!!!!!

week of mornings day 5

We are getting ready for Brett's family to come over to celebrate Gwenie's birthday, so I am off to clean the house, cook, wrap present, etc. Tune in tomorrow to see all the festivities.

p.s. her birthday is not today, we are only celebrating with family today.

30 years.

I knew turning 30 was a really big milestone and wanted to commemorate it to it's full potential. With a husband that hates surprises and party's I decided to find something great for us to do. It did require lots of praying as it was supposed to rain on his Birthday and my surprise would not work if it did.

Luckily we were granted a 2 hour window of no rain! The sky was gorgeous and we were able to go. I surprised Brett and it worked! He really enjoyed the Gondola, we both love being on the water. Whoo Hoo, Yay me! I was nervous to surprise him, but I decided that I had never surprised him in the 8.5 years we have known each other and it was time that I tried it out.

Success! Here is the photo that the Gondola place took of us. They take a polaroid picture of you and so I scanned it in and this is what I got. It really is a good picture of us, but not so much after it got scanned in. Look at how identical we look. We are both tilted the same way and are holding our cups the same way. LOL. We are Soooooooo married.

They provide you with Sparkling Cider (one of my favorites) and bread, cheese and some salami. It was a little snack but really nice.

Then for an hour we sailed around Newport Harbor. It was so peaceful and quiet since no one else was on the water with us, probably to afraid of the rain, but it stayed nice for us the whole time. We even had 2 seals come up to the Gondola!
