Our Anniversary with the girls

We made a long weekend out of our Anniversary! It landed on a Thursday so Brett took Thursday & Friday off and we got a hotel from Thursday - Sunday. We had the girls until Friday night so they got to enjoy the hotel with us.

First thing we did was reserve a table at the Blue Bayou in Disneyland. I have never eaten there before and thought it would be something fun and different to do for our actual Anniversary since we would have the girls. It was sooooo hot that day at Disneyland so that is why both Brett and look so red.

I am so glad I remembered to bring Penelope's hat since her poor bald head would have fried. The dumbo line was one that was really hot since most of the line is in the sun.

Watching Dumbo

Luckily the next line was Peter Pan and some of it is covered and you get some air conditioning.

Our hotel was close to Disneyland and cheap but it had a huge jacuzzi pool which Gwen (and of course Brett & I) loved!!! Penelope just loved to sit on the big bed and play games on Brett's iphone.

She is already addicted!

already a pro

Sorry for the overload of pictures but sometime the girls are just to cute not to take tons.

Loves the iphone

We took the girls to this really cool park by Disneyland, but it ended up being mainly for older kids. Gwen still had a good time.

I did get this hilarious outtake of Penelope. It is way better then the real picture.

Gwen's Birthday

Brett took the day off and we all went to Disneyland. It was so sad to have to buy Gwen a pass but she loved it and held it most of the day.

loved her Pass

Dumbo was her first request.

Waiting for Dumbo

Then the horses aka carousel was her next request. It was crowded but we still had fun. We all love Disneyland.

Daddy & Daughter

It was Penelope's first time on the ride and she loved it.

We went over to California Adventure just to ride Monster's Inc, but it was worth it.

Then we went to Brett's parents to swim, eat and open presents.

Then I made Gwen her Mater Cake and it turned out AWESOME! I was so happy that it came out the way I wanted it to.

Gwen loved it. As we were all signing Happy Birthday she was singing it with us. It is one of her favorite songs.

Penelope's 1st Disneyland trip

Brett had had a bad day at work so he came home early and wanted to go and do something fun. We decided that we both missed Disneyland so we went and renewed our passes. We thought it was funny because Gwen didn't get to go until she was 9 months old and here is Penelope 4 months old when she goes for the first time.

Penelope on the tram. She was so happy.

smiles for the tram

It was a great day to go. It was not crowded and it was cool without being cold. We got on alot of rides and the girls both were really good. It made me think that I could do it alone and get back to going during the day with friends.

Mickey

It was really so fun to be back to the happiest place on earth. The girls love it and we love it too.

loves casey jr.

This time Gwen told us which rides she wanted to go on and that is what we did. She had not ever done that before. She did always say that she wanted to go on Peter Pan but that was it.

carousel

This is what Penelope was doing while Brett and Gwenie were on the carousel. (sorry took it with my iphone)

Had tons of fun at Disneyland

I normally do not stop for characters since the lines are always way long and Gwen never really seems to care, but this time we stopped since it was Woody and Jessie some of her favorites! I was hoping that she would go alone but once it was our turn she wanted me to go. The face Gwenie is making is her nervous face.

Toy Story

Luckily after that she then gave both of them hugs. Apparently she warmed up.

hugs for Woody

Penelope and I on Main Street just as we were leaving. It had been a really good day.

disneyland

Gwenie fell right to sleep once we got into the car. She always falls asleep so funny when it is the car.

Disneyland wore her out

I had forgotten the Mickey ears beenie that Melodie had given Penelope the first time we went but a couple of days later we went again and I remembered. Good thing too since it was cold.

Dland

Needless to say we will be going again soon. We can't wait until Melodie is well again after her surgery so that we can all go again together. Gwenie keeps asking for Papa and Grandma to go to Disneyland.

Disney Trick or Treat.

Last Friday night we went to California Adventure for Trick or Treat. I tried really hard to get some picture of Gwen in her pirate costume before we left......(she really doesn't want her picture taken anymore).

Our little Pirate

Pirate Gwenie

This was our 3rd year and it is always fun, but this year was a little disappointing. They had less candy stations, crappy candy, it was alot more crowded this year and they raised their ticket prices.

I had to dress up as a pirate too to get Gwenie to wear her costume. Once we got the costume in the mail she would not put it on. She kept telling us, " No, Daddy be a pirate!" then it turned into Kami, Grandma & Papa she wanted to be a pirate. Luckily my trick of dressing up as one worked and she wore hers and loved it, just not the hat so much.

Disney Trick or Treat

Kami had been in the hospital for a week but still really wanted to go with us to Disneyland, hence the wheelchair. Gwenie loved pushing her in the wheelchair with Papa there to help guide her where to go.

pushing aunt kami

Terrible picture but I wanted to show that Melodie was with us too. she was the only one who wanted to go on the ride with Gwenie and they had a good time.

Ladybug ride

I love Halloween but being almost 9 months pregnant does make it really hard. I didn't decorate this year (a first for me) and we will see how I do tonight waking around for a long time trick or treating. Hopefully when Gwenie wakes up from her nap I will have the energy to carve the pumpkin with her. I love carving pumpkins!

Vacation at Disneyland

When we got back from Utah we still told ourselves we were on vacation that weekend. We went to Disneyland with Brett's family on Friday night and had a ton of fun. We went on Peter Pan since that is Gwenie's new love. She has us read her the book EVERY night. Brett has it memorized by now.

in line for Peter Pan

I took my small Canon Powershot camera with me to take some pictures since I still like to document everything but didn't want to take the huge camera (which I love) to Disneyland, to much to carry when I am pregnant.

loves for grandma & grandpa

Kami even drove down to meet us there that night which was so nice since she lives in Los Angeles and has a long drive.

Kami

Gweniveve is getting to be so tall. She is over 36" and only weighs 27 pounds. I was really excited that she was plenty tall enough to ride the roller coaster in Toon Town. She sat with me and the whole time on the ride (it is a fast but short ride) she was saying " Whoa Whoa" . Once we were off she wanted to get back on, my kind of girl!

tall enough

Since we do not go to Toon Town I had not taken on picture of Gwenie on Mickey's Mailbox since April 2008 when we went with Erin & Mason. It was so fun to take another one and compare it.

Mickey's Mailbox 2008

its a tradition

We just love Disneyland! We have started going almost every Friday night. Gwenie and I pick Brett up at work and then drive down together, if it is crowded we don't care. We always get on alot of rides and really enjoy being there.

What do you do when you need a break????

Go to Disneyland!!!!!

Going to Disneyland

Saturday after Gwenie woke up from her nap we went to Disneyland. We have been DYING to take Gwenie on the Materhorn, so I put her in shoes that have a big sole and prayed that she would be tall enough.

I didn't even need the high shoes she was plenty tall enough. (whoo hoo for my iphone, it is great not to have to lug around a big camera at Disneyland)

She's tall enough

This is how she prepared herself for the ride. This is her favorite thing to do now, she is always pretending to be asleep everywhere she goes.

Preparing herself

This is how she looked for the whole ride. I can't decide if she is liking it or not?

On materhorn

She was smiling when the ride was over! YAY. It was so fun to take her on her first actual roller coaster ride.

Loved it!

Then we took her on her favorite ride, the carousel. She just loves this one.

Her favorite

Then we decided to go again today since a bunch of my friends went. Here are the kids right outside of Monster's Inc.

The last ride we went on was Toy Story. Thanks Abby for going again with us. Gwenie kept her glasses on the whole time, she kept saying Whee and loved being on this ride. She loves Toy Story.
