Our own version.

The Melting Pot at the in laws. It was last minute that we went to Brett's parents on Saturday evening and when we got there Kami and Dad were starting on getting fondue all set up, it was a great surprise.

our own little melting pot

Who doesn't love Martinelli's? Well Brett doesn't, but that leaves more for me.

Dessert was the best part. I LOVE chocolate covered strawberries, even better when it is soft chocolate and not the hard stuff.

Gwenie loved it.

Of course.

Maybe a little to much.

Then Gwenie rode on the rocking horse that Brett's parents bought (it stays at their house) which of course Gwenie loves. Whee.

The fondue was a fun and interesting way to eat dinner with the family, we need to do it again guys, especially the chocolate part. YUMMY.

Weekend Getaways.

Brett & I went to this gorgeous hotel.

We stayed in this nice big room. I had only a small problem with it. They misled me with the whole bath tub. It was just a normal bath tub and I thought it would be this big marble bath tub, but it only had marble tiles on the floor. Anytime Brett and I get away I always get a hotel with a huge bath tub because that is my thing. Bummer, but I still had a nice long soak.

We finally went and ate at the Melting Pot. Brett and I did not know how we felt about the whole fondue thing, but let me tell you it was fabulous!!! We ate Lobster, which is one of my favorites.

The dessert I don't even know what to say.......YUMMY. Their chocolate is the best. Both Brett and I could not stop thinking about it the rest of the weekend.

yummy

We went on a hunt to find Brett a coat, which apparently is hard to find for a tall skinny guy, saw 2 movies, played lots of scrabble on Brett's iphone and just had fun being together (I won't go into details.hehe.)

This was Gwenie's weekend getaway and from all accounts she had a marvelous time. With going to Disneyland, riding in a car stroller and helping Grandma (nana) with the dishes how could you not have a marvelous time??

Thanks so much Mom & Dad.

Thanks Mom.

I finally tried on the "Tinkerbell" costume that my MIL bought Gwenie last year on sale to wear this year for Halloween and it is to small. So I thought I would take advantage of having my mom here on Saturday to see if she could help me make Gwenie a costume. (They were staying with us for a night before they headed back to Utah) We went to the fabric store and poured through the patterns. My mom came across one that had us both laughing and we knew that would be the one.

I also bought some velvet (expensive stuff) so that my mom could take it home and sew Gweniveve a cape with a hood for Christmas. She had made my niece, Whitney, a cape with hood out of velvet one year and I thought it was awesome. I am so excited for Gwenie to open it on Christmas and wear it as a coat.

Then we went out to dinner at Fuddrucker's. As I have mentioned before my Dad is a huge lover of a good hamburger. We got a corner booth so Gwenie had tons of room and was in heaven.

The last thing my mom did was to give Gwenie her 1st EVER haircut. My mom told me that it would grow faster and thicker if it was trimmed and I am all for that.

first haircut

Gwenie just wanted to drink out of the sink, which made it a little hard for my mom to cut her hair, but it went great.

thirsty?

It was so amazing to see my parents, I just love when they are around. Apparently so does Gwenie. The whole time they were here she would run up to my mom or dad for them to hold her hand or to give them hug & kisses. She even said grandpa for the first time, it was great.
