Kami's Birthday

Well we made Kami's birthday as fun as possible since she had just got out of the hospital. We tried to pamper her. Gwenie blow dried her hair and then I curled it.

Then I made her a cake that was Gluten-free and Soy free. Since she is intolerant to both.



I called it Chocolate Candy Bar Cake and here is the recipe if you would like to make it. It is really yummy.



She opened her presents.....

Mom & Dad gave her the Dutch Oven from Le Creuset that she had been dying for.



Penelope was sleeping otherwise she would have been in this pic.



It was a fun and relaxing day.



Happy Birthday Kami!

Gwen's Birthday

Brett took the day off and we all went to Disneyland. It was so sad to have to buy Gwen a pass but she loved it and held it most of the day.

Dumbo was her first request.



Then the horses aka carousel was her next request. It was crowded but we still had fun. We all love Disneyland.



It was Penelope's first time on the ride and she loved it.





We went over to California Adventure just to ride Monster's Inc, but it was worth it.





Then we went to Brett's parents to swim, eat and open presents.



Then I made Gwen her Mater Cake and it turned out AWESOME! I was so happy that it came out the way I wanted it to.





Gwen loved it. As we were all signing Happy Birthday she was singing it with us. It is one of her favorite songs.







It was a long day but really fun. We did all of Gwen's favorites, Disneyland, swimming, singing & cake.

Christmas

I didn't buy the girls Christmas dresses this year since I thought we would still be staying home on that Sunday, but it turned out that we did go to church on that day. I did have a new dress that was really dressy for Gwen to wear and I put on Penelope a dress that Gwen used to wear that was green.

Then Christmas morning was great. Brett's family came over to our house and watched the girls open Santa gifts. Then after Dad made us a yummy breakfast.

My family has a tradition that you have to wait on the stairs until you take a picture before you get to go and open Santa gifts. I have carried on that tradition. Gwen would do nothing until she put on her dress-up dress. Not so much of a tomboy anymore since she started to watch the movie Enchanted. Can't you tell how excited Penelope is???



Gwenie was a pro at opening all the gifts. Of course she asked Brett to open each and everyone once she opened it.



Penelope slept the whole time we opened gifts.

After we were all done we got ready and went over to Brett's parents house the open more presents and have dinner. I realized that I didn't take any pictures of Gwen opening gifts there, total bummer. I just got this one picture of us as a family.



Well Christmas was great! I got diamond earrings from Brett which I have been wanting for a long time and Gwenie came away with nothing but TOYS!!! Note to self: next year mix in clothes and other things so that the house is not over run with TOYS.

An Elmo Birthday

She did great with opening her gifts, she loved everything that she got. Cars racetrack, shopping cart, cash register/check out stand, coloring books & potty doll, thanks everyone!

I think everyone loved her gifts as much as she did, they wanted to play with them. Sorry it is blurry.



The Elmo cake. Kami ended up doing the decorating since I had so many other things to do, isn't it so cute!!!! Much better in person then the picture, the flash did not agree with it. Everyone had colored teeth from all of the dye that Kami and I had to add to the frosting to get the red and black. It was so funny to see everyone's mouths. To bad the frosting tasted really yucky since we had to add so much dye to it, but it sure looked good.



She loved it when we sang to her. She sang along and danced. She loves to sing now, I love it.



Once she got the cake she pulled the plate up to her face and ate it that way. Too funny.






Thanks everyone for the great gifts and all the laughs that we had. We had a great time.

The Aftermath - week of mornings day 6

We partied hard yesterday! Gwenie was swimming in presents and attention. The cars racetrack was her favorite (atleast so far). Next week after week of mornings I will post all the pictures and details. I can't wait to tell you how everyone came away from the experience with colored teeth.

Christmas day.

After we opened Santa presents in the morning we headed over to Brett's parents and opened all of our gifts with them. It ended up being a big handmade gift day. Kami crochet Mom and I blankets and I made Kami a quilt. (more on that here)

Gwenie got a lot more of her Dee Dee. She was really happy.





Gwenie loves to read. Luckily Aunt Kami likes to read too.



Mom got us cookbooks and I realized that this is my first one. I just have a collection of recipes from people. I find that alittle funny that I have never owned one.



Kami scored with giving Gwenie everything Backyardigans. She wanted to carry them everywhere with her.



I scored too.



Our traditional Christmas day picture at his parents. We always end up on this couch with a picture of us for some reason.



The only game I can get Brett's family to play is this one. So now it is a tradition. Let me add that Brett likes to block so watch out!



We enjoyed a great fire because it rained all day. Poor Gwenie just wanted to go outside.



We had one mishap though. Dad totally burned his hand picking up a pan lid off the stove thinking that the oven was off and the lid would not be hot. Poor Dad.



We had a great day and we all made out like bandits. I am so happy that Brett is off of work until Jan. 5th. It has been a long time since he took vacation (since March) and we are going to go to Disneyland and see as many movies as possible. I can't wait.
