Disney Trick or Treat.

Last Friday night we went to California Adventure for Trick or Treat. I tried really hard to get some picture of Gwen in her pirate costume before we left......(she really doesn't want her picture taken anymore).

Our little Pirate

Pirate Gwenie

This was our 3rd year and it is always fun, but this year was a little disappointing. They had less candy stations, crappy candy, it was alot more crowded this year and they raised their ticket prices.

I had to dress up as a pirate too to get Gwenie to wear her costume. Once we got the costume in the mail she would not put it on. She kept telling us, " No, Daddy be a pirate!" then it turned into Kami, Grandma & Papa she wanted to be a pirate. Luckily my trick of dressing up as one worked and she wore hers and loved it, just not the hat so much.

Disney Trick or Treat

Kami had been in the hospital for a week but still really wanted to go with us to Disneyland, hence the wheelchair. Gwenie loved pushing her in the wheelchair with Papa there to help guide her where to go.

pushing aunt kami

Terrible picture but I wanted to show that Melodie was with us too. she was the only one who wanted to go on the ride with Gwenie and they had a good time.

Ladybug ride

I love Halloween but being almost 9 months pregnant does make it really hard. I didn't decorate this year (a first for me) and we will see how I do tonight waking around for a long time trick or treating. Hopefully when Gwenie wakes up from her nap I will have the energy to carve the pumpkin with her. I love carving pumpkins!

Pumpkin Carving + Birthday shout out

I am big into Pumpkin caring, to Brett's dismay. I have always carved a pumpkin, Brett does sometimes. Last year with Gwenie it went GREAT! She tried to eat the pumpkin and tried to clean some of it out. This year is a whole another story.....

Brett taking our tops off. (hehe)

taking our tops off

Gwenie thought it was YUCKY! She "faked" throwing up! It was making Brett and I laugh so hard. She thought it smelled and felt nasty, she wanted nothing to do with it, just like her Dad and Auntie Kami. She might look like me (even though that is a matter of opinion) but she is ALL Brett.

this is yuck

She sat with Brett for just a second thinking that it would be better if she just watched him, but as you can see that didn't last long either. She kept leaving us to it and then coming up next to us and "faking" throwing up (the sounds she made were great) and then leaving to play with toys.

no, Daddy, yucky

Brett hates cleaning them out so that is all up to me.

carving

Here is all the inerds. I swear Gwenies had the most seeds and hers was so tiny. There is nothing like homemade pumpkin seeds. Another Halloween tradition.

I put Gwenie in her Tie Dye shirt from this post, so all of you who wanted to see the finished project could.

Disney Trick or Treat.

Mickey's trick or treat

Finally I got to put Gweniveve into her costume that my mom made! She was the talk of Disneyland, so many people commented to us on how they LOVED the costume and thought Gwenie was adorable. Thanks so much Mom, it was a hit!

As some of you know CA Adventure is decorated with Candy Corns, it was the perfect venue for Gwenie. Ms. Candy Corn.

big candy corn

Here she is on the run with candy in hand, she grabbed some from her bag before I could stop her. Apparently she really is from Brett's side of the family, they love Tootsie rolls. (I know you don't though Dad, just like me!)

candy in hand

She is trying to eat it through the wrapping, next time I will be faster :) As many of you know I don't give Gwenie candy, really why start? Put it off as long as possible, this was just a minor set-back.

snuck some candy

Kami & Dad snuck into our picture, sneaky sneaky.

Kami & Gwenie, this was the one time Gwenie let someone else walk/hold her. She is going through the "I only want Mommy" stage.

Auntie & Gwen

Gwenie lasted longer than I thought she would in her costume, as you can guess it is a little bulky. Once she was done we put her in the stroller and got as much candy as we could. So much of it I can't eat with my braces, really we don't need it all, so I will be recycling and giving it out on Halloween, smart huh? Thanks Disney.

It was time to get Gwenie to bed so we headed to the tram, hence the bottle. I was hoping she would fall asleep any minute.

On the tram

It really is the happiest place on earth. (I realize that this was CA Adventure, and this really applies to Disneyland, which in my opinion is WAY better!)

Halloween Crafts

Our playgroup got together today to make these tie-dye Halloween T-shirts:

While the moms were getting the shirts ready, the kids all got together to decorate graham crackers, but lets face it all of it ended up on their faces and in their mouths, not on the crackers! It was Gwenie's first time eating ANY candy, let alone candy corns (which is what she is going to be for Halloween) so she was in heaven. She doesn't even have any left on her plate!

Hayden told me that she was saving hers for later! Smart girl.

Gavin didn't waste anytime eating his once he was done decorating it. I love how Spencer/Lincoln (Twins and I can tell who is who when I can see them together, any help? Katie?) is looking on.

Brody licking off the frosting, don't blame him it was yummy.

The shirts have to soak for along time, so we then gave the kids Popsicles. Sugar high anyone?

all the kids

Popsicles

Charise has a great backyard with lots of toys and a swing set that the kids loved. I got Noah to smile his great smile!

Noah

Noah's brother, Sawyer and Gwenie's playmate. Such a cutie.

Sawyer

Gweniveve was nice enough to share her Popsicle with me.

Licking

Obviously Gwenie did not want to smile for the photo op because there was a Popsicle involved, but oh well. It is hard to get pictures of the 2 of us together because I am the photographer in the family.

Charise we had a great time thanks.
