Birthday weekend

Brett and I got to get away for a long weekend for our birthday's. It was so nice to know the girls were in good hands with my Mother in law and that they were having fun with her.

We stayed in a really nice hotel, the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. Our hotel had an awesome view from the balcony.

Here we are on our balcony. We really loved our balcony. It was so nice to have a great view of the beach and to enjoy it.



We went to our favorite resturant, The Melting Pot, for both of our birthdays and it was really nice to sit and take our time.



We came home on my birthday and both of the girls didn't leave my lap for most of the day.



Brett made me my favorite cake, as per our tradition. This photo you can really see that I am keeping it real. The house was a mess and the trash needed to be dumped!



Gwenie has really loved birthdays lately and can sing the whole birthday song by herself. She helped me blow out the candles. The minute I got home she ran up to me and said Happy Birthday Mommy! It was the best present.



Thanks again to my Mother in law for watching the girls and to Kami for coming and helping her out on Saturday.

An Elmo Birthday

She did great with opening her gifts, she loved everything that she got. Cars racetrack, shopping cart, cash register/check out stand, coloring books & potty doll, thanks everyone!

I think everyone loved her gifts as much as she did, they wanted to play with them. Sorry it is blurry.



The Elmo cake. Kami ended up doing the decorating since I had so many other things to do, isn't it so cute!!!! Much better in person then the picture, the flash did not agree with it. Everyone had colored teeth from all of the dye that Kami and I had to add to the frosting to get the red and black. It was so funny to see everyone's mouths. To bad the frosting tasted really yucky since we had to add so much dye to it, but it sure looked good.



She loved it when we sang to her. She sang along and danced. She loves to sing now, I love it.



Once she got the cake she pulled the plate up to her face and ate it that way. Too funny.






Thanks everyone for the great gifts and all the laughs that we had. We had a great time.

30 years.

I knew turning 30 was a really big milestone and wanted to commemorate it to it's full potential. With a husband that hates surprises and party's I decided to find something great for us to do. It did require lots of praying as it was supposed to rain on his Birthday and my surprise would not work if it did.

Luckily we were granted a 2 hour window of no rain! The sky was gorgeous and we were able to go. I surprised Brett and it worked! He really enjoyed the Gondola, we both love being on the water. Whoo Hoo, Yay me! I was nervous to surprise him, but I decided that I had never surprised him in the 8.5 years we have known each other and it was time that I tried it out.

Success! Here is the photo that the Gondola place took of us. They take a polaroid picture of you and so I scanned it in and this is what I got. It really is a good picture of us, but not so much after it got scanned in. Look at how identical we look. We are both tilted the same way and are holding our cups the same way. LOL. We are Soooooooo married.

They provide you with Sparkling Cider (one of my favorites) and bread, cheese and some salami. It was a little snack but really nice.

Then for an hour we sailed around Newport Harbor. It was so peaceful and quiet since no one else was on the water with us, probably to afraid of the rain, but it stayed nice for us the whole time. We even had 2 seals come up to the Gondola!

We both highly recommend it.

I thought we had candles, but it turns out that Brett used them up for my birthday cake. So......I only had 3 candles left. 3 candles for being 30 years old.

Celebration.

First we went to Dland so that I could get my much awaited gift card. Remember this post? I also had heard that you had to spend the money that day, but girls it is not true. The Disney peeps told me that they did that the first day and it was horrible so thay changed the rule and you get to use the gift card all year!!! Whoo Hoo!!! Since we were there we did get some things but I still have money left.

Gwenie is totally addicted to Toy Story (YAY, movies Brett and I can watch with her) and so I got her Woody and Buzz and they have not been parted since. I also have an obsession with Mr. Potato heads. It all started when I saw Darth Tater. The name alone grabbed me, but he was super cute too. Have you seen him?

My in laws heard me talking about him and bought him for me along with Spudtrooper. So when I saw Princess Tater at Dland I had to have her. Does this count as something Princessey girls???

Kami came to watch Gwenie so that Brett and I could go to the movies and dinner. Thanks again Kami. The movie was good and dinner was AWESOME. You can't go wrong with the Melting Pot.

Brett and I also have a Birthday tradition that has lived on these 8 1/2 years of marriage. We make each other our favorite cakes. I love the funfetti white cake and I have not changed my mind on it all of these years. It is the one thing that Brett makes for me and I love it.



Gwenie helped me blow out the candles, she was so excited to have some cake.



Birthday's are great, it is always nice to have a day for yourself, BUT..........I HATE I repeat I HATE getting older. 29 is SCARY it is one away from 30 and that is crazy. I really cannot believe that I have been around that long.
