A date with a hammer - day 15

Bokeh was my theme today and if you don't know what that is here is the definition: is the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur,in out-of-focus areas of an image, or "the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light."

A Date With A Hammer

I had a whole other idea for a picture today but I could not get it to work which is something I HATE. I hate having an awesome idea and then it not turning out so here you go I took a picture of my hammer since it is downstairs waiting for me to hang up all the pictures that go in our family room. We still have not hung everything up since we got it painted and the room looks really bare.

last horrah.

Getting ready for the house being tented, driving to Utah to stay with my family, getting stressed just thinking about it. So instead of thinking about it we went to the beach for one last horrah before reality kicks in and I start making check marks on my LONG list of things to do before leaving Saturday morning.

I know I always take tons of pictures, but at the beach I even take more than normal, for me atleast. I just LOVE beach pictures, who am I kidding I just love the beach, so please bare with me on all the pictures.

at the beach

sand castles??

The sand was clinging to everything, much worse than any other time I had been at the beach.

She loves the sand.

I am so happy that she loves the water and is not afraid of swimming.

I have been reading and looking at the internet to learn how to make "bokeh" which is a term for a picture that is focused on one thing and the rest or background is bleary. It has to do with the aperture and what you focused on. This picture turned out great. The bokeh is exactly what I wanted, I love it!!

Kailey just wanted to get water for her sand castles and Gwenie just wanted to swim.

Kailey was wearing her mom's hat and she looked super cute in it.

Then I played around with the Sepia look, I really am one for color, I love tons. Especially bright and sharp colors, but I thought these were cute in sepia.

checking out the view

can I catch it?

Have I mentioned before that I love this camera?!?! Shots like these are worth all of my money, time I have put into learning the camera and how to be a better photographer.

Now that that is all done, time to get out the list and try not to panic, apparently getting the house tented is alot of work. Is is all about prioritizing.

Pablo

Kailey bought Gwenie a new bubble machine. It is Pablo from Backyardigans, which as anyone who knows Gwenie, knows it is her favorite show. Why do kids love bubbles so much???

pablo the bubble machine

I love all the bubbles floating around Gwenie's face, they look so pretty floating around.

Kailey got tons on her hand and I got this great close-up.

After all the bubbles were gone, Gwenie got a little upset....

sad face, so funny

I know these shouldn't make me laugh/smile, but they do!!!

neighbors

Luckily our neighbor friend, Kailey, has had her Grandma taking care of her for a month instead of going to a babysitter. It gives Gweniveve someone to play with during the day, especially now when I really don't want to do anything. I have just not had any motivation to do anything this week, I think I am recuperating from the almost 2 weeks of Gweniveve being sick!!! One thing that I do want to do is play with my camera and learn all that I can about Aperture and lenses. I am having tons of fun playing around and learning what I like. Lucky for me Kailey and Gweniveve make great subjects.

They have been very creative, they love taking turns being in the doll stroller. One of these days it is going to break but they love it.

BFF's

Kailey's Grandma brought her dog, Zion, down with her and Gwenie is getting to be really attached to her. It is a huge surprise to us since she has not liked dogs before. Who am I kidding, I really want her to get rid of this like for dogs since Brett and I do not like them, hopefully Zion will not be here long. hehe.

doggie love

Kailey picked us some gorgeous flowers and we all wore then in our hair.

I was super excited that Gwenie left hers in for a long time. (Sorry sappy parent moment ahead.) Just look at those blue eyes, I am dying here!

Hmmmmm.......Hopefully we will be up and running soon.

Humm....

Especially since Saturday is a big day!!!! Breaking Dawn comes out and don't think I won't be at Walmart buying it first thing!!! Plus we have the OC Fair that night and I am looking forward to my first Elephant ride. Gwenie and I feel so left out of Brett's family because they all have had Elephant rides, in Thailand no less. So hopefully the fair will make us feel like we finally fit in.

translation please

sweet face

1. Gay-go

2. Gee-go

3. Go-gee

Who knows what the translation is??? She says them over and over while playing with her fingers, most of the time. She has used these words for months and months now, and there has been many people trying to figure out the meaning with no luck.
