Memorial Weekend

We had a fun weekend. We went to Disneyland on Friday night, our favorite time to go.


Dumbo is the first ride we go on since it is Gweniveve's favorite. She screams with excitement the minute the ride comes into view.

I took my little camera since it is so much easier to deal with at Disneyland. It is a great little camera.



Then the Teacups which Brett will not go on so just Gwenie and I do.



Then we also went to the beach for a couple of hours. It was so fun to dig in the sand and have some fun. We have not had fun around here in awhile with the surgery's, sickness and allergy problems that have been going on around here.





Gwen and I made sand castles and then we also dug a hole for Penelope to sit in.



She loved digging her feet into the sand and making a hole herself with them.



Brett then decided to bury Gwen in the sand and surprisingly she loved it.





It was a great weekend.

Fun at the beach

On Saturday we went shopping and as we were shopping Gwenie said lets go to the beach! So it was totally not planned and so I did not have my camera which was really hard for me since it was Penelope's first time but atleast I had my iphone. But we will have to go again soon so that I can get some great pictures with my camera.

We were in Newport so we went to the beach there. It was around 6pm and no one was on the beach so it was soooo nice. Love this picture soooo much. Brett looks sexy and Penelope has a great smile. See this is why I wish I had my good camera. I would have totally blown up this picture to frame but iphone pics do not print very well. :(

We just sat there and watched Gwen play in the sand and then she ran for the water.



Brett quickly went after her but she made it to the water and begged for him to take off her dress so that she could go in the water. There was no stopping her. She got really wet of course and we had to take her dress off. Classic Gwen. Picture not included :)


I have this app on my phone that lets you take video since my iphone is not the new one with video and this was the first time that Brett had left his iphone at home (sooo not like him) so we couldn't use his video. This app is great to have but it makes the video really jumpy, but atleast I got some.



Of course this had to happen the day that I finally get my car cleaned out and washed! I didn't have a blanket in the car like I always do and now I am going to have sand in the car, but I said who cares that is what having fun is all about.



I also have this new camera app on my iphone called Hipstamatic that Erin told me about and it is soooo fun. The pictures come out looking old school and it is great.

Earlier that day I had taken Penelope with me to the car wash and I had some fun taking pictures of us with my new app.





Classic Penelope.....she loves doing the fish mouth.



It was a really fun day. We all decided that we need to go more to the beach at that time of day, just next time be more prepared. Gwen WILL go into the water.

We finally got out of the house!

My sister Dori and her kids came into town on Friday and wanted to go to the beach. Brett took the day off and we met them in Oceanside at the beach. Well needless to say it was 80 degrees when we left and when we got to the beach it was windy and cold around the mid 60's.

Shelby (my niece) was nice enough to take Gwenie into the water since Brett and I were huddled under towels. We were not prepared for the cold, it did not phase Gwenie since she ran into the water and wanted to stay there.

After we got her out of the water, Shelby gave Gwenie her shirt so that she could be warmer.



My nephew and niece were having tons of fun in the water with there skim boards and boogie boards, Gwenie just wanted to ride the waves with them all. We have a daredevil on our hands, she wants to try and do anything!!!! She is definitely not a girly girly, she can already ride our neighbors skateboard!



My nephew Braccen was VERY excited to have surfed for the first time!



As we were getting ready to leave Shelby and Tanner found some cool Starfish and then released them back into the ocean! They were really cool to look at.



I hope you are all happy that I made it back, finally, into the blogging world. (hehe) I feel my nesting stage coming on and I am ready to de-clutter and organize everything, I hope I am feeling good soon, so that I can get it done.

Holiday bonfire

Saturday we went to the beach to have some fun. Dad brought his own BBQ so that we did not have to fight for a fire pit. We had lots of fun watching Gwenie play in the sand and run for the water.

Brett does not like being in pictures and this was his attempt to run away from them.We were all laughing our heads off at him.



If Brett and Mom only knew that I still got them in pictures. Can you see them in the background? This was a great shot.

Gwen and the lifeguard kept flirting all night. He was really cute with her.



Bottle with mommy. This is the only time she will sit with you and cuddle, I love it.

last horrah.

Getting ready for the house being tented, driving to Utah to stay with my family, getting stressed just thinking about it. So instead of thinking about it we went to the beach for one last horrah before reality kicks in and I start making check marks on my LONG list of things to do before leaving Saturday morning.

I know I always take tons of pictures, but at the beach I even take more than normal, for me atleast. I just LOVE beach pictures, who am I kidding I just love the beach, so please bare with me on all the pictures.

The sand was clinging to everything, much worse than any other time I had been at the beach.



She loves the sand.





I am so happy that she loves the water and is not afraid of swimming.







I have been reading and looking at the internet to learn how to make "bokeh" which is a term for a picture that is focused on one thing and the rest or background is bleary. It has to do with the aperture and what you focused on. This picture turned out great. The bokeh is exactly what I wanted, I love it!!



Kailey just wanted to get water for her sand castles and Gwenie just wanted to swim.





Kailey was wearing her mom's hat and she looked super cute in it.



Then I played around with the Sepia look, I really am one for color, I love tons. Especially bright and sharp colors, but I thought these were cute in sepia.





Have I mentioned before that I love this camera?!?! Shots like these are worth all of my money, time I have put into learning the camera and how to be a better photographer.



Now that that is all done, time to get out the list and try not to panic, apparently getting the house tented is alot of work. Is is all about prioritizing.
