Labor Day on the Pier.

We decided to use the free tickets that Brett's work gave him for the Santa Monica Pier on Monday. We went to pick up Kami at her new condo so that she could go with us and for us to see her condo all painted and set up. It looked great and I know she is happy to live on her own and to be done with roomates, I don't blame her!

The pier was beautiful since it is right on the beach, hence "the pier" part. (I am cracking myself up with that one! )

We ate at Bubba Gumps, Kami highly recommended it. I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried something new. I got fish, Tilapia, with a mango salsa on top and I don't even like fish. The mango salsa is what sold me on the dish, yummy!

They had this Tribute to the Iraq causalities. I thought it was interesting right there on the beach, they had crosses and coffins (hopefully empty) with the flag over them all set up. I put Gwenie right in front to play with the sand so I could get a picture of it. This is what Labor Day is for.

We were enjoying walking around, but I thought it a waste of the wristbands if we didn't go on anything. I love rollar coasters, but don't like it if they go upside down or have long drops, so the one at the pier was perfect for me. We are on the last car, if you can see us. Brett looks alittle bored, he will tell you he was,I really enjoyed it, but came away with a headache, arg!

I love this photo of us with the beach and the rides in the background.

Here we are leaving the pier since it was past nap time and also getting really hot. We enjoyed getting ice cream (cookies and cream!) and resting at Kami's house before we drove home.

I used to love crazy rollercoasters, but I'm a wimp these days! Looks like a fun way to end summer!

I've never been to the Santa Monica Pier!!! Looks like so much fun...I'm ready to pack my bags and head out there right now! By the way, did your waiter quiz you with tons of Forest Gump questions? That's what happened to my parents when they ate there in Chicago.

Whoa...Kimberly must be leaving comments at the same time as me. As for the toys thing, it's pretty funny. My mom gets tired of having to clean up ALL the toys ALL the time when so many kids are here, so she hides a lot of them so they have less to choose from. They don't know the difference, and there's less of a mess!

Kim,We never got any questions, that is funny they asked your parents tons, that would get annoying when you are trying to eat.

Robyn, that is a good idea, I will have to think of doing that if and when I have lots of kids in the house. So funny though.

Looks like you guys had a fun day. Isn't it funny how everything revolves around nap time now. Everyone is miserable without it.
