Singing

I potty trained my first child!!!! All done before she is 2 1/2. Whoo Hoo. The first two days where ones I would like to forget, it is hard to bend down so much being so big and pregnant. Gwenie has been ready for awhile now but I was so sick in the beginning of my pregnancy and then we went on vacation and then we got sick and finally I was done putting it off. I started on last Sunday as we stayed home sick (I had Bronchitis and Brett a cold). I took her off of diapers and made her stay in underwear. She potty trained Elmo the first day but then stopped but it was super funny when she would ask Elmo if he had to go and then sit him on the potty!

On Monday night she was sitting there and I could see that it all clicked in her mind. She had this look of "I got it" and since then it has been great! I was impressed that it only took her a day and a half to get it. I was nervous that she would not go at others homes or in potty's at restaurants or stores, ( I have heard others saying their kids took a long time before they would do that) but she likes it. She loves flushing the toilet since it is really loud. I ask her alot if she has to go but most of the time she runs to me and says she has to go. I am super impressed. Brett made up a "Potty Song" and that helped Gwenie get excited and like it. Here she is singing her version of the potty song. She loved to sing while she was sitting there.

We stayed home for the most part that week. It was nice since it allowed me to start on the quilt that I want to make for the baby. Here is a sneak peak at some of the blocks that I have started to make. I can't wait for it all to be done.

14 blocks done!

Yeah! Kids that use the potty are so great, okay I still like kids that don't use the potty but you know what I mean. Could you translate what she is saying? I also noticed that you don't have toilet paper right by the potty, does she like to "use" a lot? We had that problem.

I love the singing! She didn't sing when I took her this weekend. :( I'll make sure and make a request next time! The quilt is going to be great!

Yay! She's potty trained. How exciting. I almost think it's more of an accomplishment for the parents than for the kids. We go through as much as they do. Congratulations! Yay Gwenie!
