The story of the Blanket.

The story goes that one bright cheerful morning a women was sitting at her sewing machine trying to sew a blanket for the baby that was growing in her tummy. She didn't know what the child would be, because this story takes place in a time before ultrasounds but she felt in her heart that it would be a girl. She sewed the blanket thinking of the little girl that would enjoy it, hopefully, if not it was not to girlie of a blanket, it could be used for a boy. Months later, to her delight, she delivered a girl! The little girl loved her blanket and took really good care of it, unlike her older brother that sucked on his after he had chocolate milk and got STAINS on his. No, she was going to take good care of her blanket so that when she had a little girl of her own, her little girl would love this blanket as much as she did.

Finally it was time for that little girl to have a little girl of her own, she pulled the blanket that was her very first blanket, the blanket that her mom had sewn for her, out of her treasure chest for her new baby girl to love. She was so happy that her little girl loved the blanket and wanted it with her.

She loves to have the blanket keep her warm in the car.

She loves to use it as her shield against the sun, which then turns into a game of peek-a-boo. Her mom smiles in delight, she could not be any happier that her little girl loved the blanket that was hers when she was a little girl.

One day the family went to Disneyland. They took the blanket with them to keep the little girl warm, but she used it as a scarf instead. Her parents were about to get mad because you don't walk around with blankets, but they laughed instead.

After the laughter, they put the blanket away for another day and went on the fun rides at Disneyland.

That blanket doesn't even look 20+ years old! I am impressed! Each of my kids are hopelessly devoted to their blankies...there's nothing like a blanky...ya know? And, I know what you mean about Devo's...gross...we still have it!

I was really worried that your story was going to have a sad ending...like losing the blankie at Disneyland. I'm glad I was wrong...what a cute blanket. Very impressive that it's in such good shape!

I don't think many can top my blankie story...I mean I have had it for 22 years now and it is on my bed as I type waiting to comfort me when I go to bed tonight.
