We drove to Los Angeles, which we hardly ever do ( and I mean WE since Brett drives there for work almost every week, poor guy) I am not a big fan of LA (sorry Kami) but I have been dying to go here...

As you can see they had a Spider exhibit going. I was sad since I have been wanting to see their Butterfly exhibit, but it is out of season and they have spiders instead, yuck!
I also really wanted to see Dinosaur's but their exhibit is closed until 2011. This is all that they had to see.

They did have a room where you could watch them exhume some bones, which was interesting. In that room they also had these for the kids:

I was surprised by the Marine section. Some fish are HUGE. Gwenie liked this exhibit, she could just run around.

There was this dark section that showed you some fish in the sea that live really far down in the ocean, where it is really dark, apparently you have to have it dark to see them. This was Gwenie's favorite, she did not want to leave it for some reason.

The lighting was SO bad in the museum so none of the pictures turned out great, but I still wanted to document Gweniveve's 1st trip to a museum.

Finally it was time to leave, we were tired and a little disappointed by the trip. I think we both were expecting more, still it was interesting and a different outing for us. As we were leaving there was no one else on the steps so I got this great picture of Gwenie.

Doing different stuff is fun, especially when the husband is there.
What a fun outing! Too bad the dinosaurs weren't available to look at.
Some of my fav. childhood memories are when we were young and my parents took us to all the different museums in LA, it was always our favorite thing to do!
We would then get dinner at Philippes, mmm. :)
I too am not the biggest fan of LA but they do have some good museums. I love taking the kids to different museums. The kids just love it. They get to look at things...sometimes touch things and at the same time they learn. What more could a parent ask for?
Looks like a fun trip. Love the last picture. She looks so small.
I want to go there....it looks fun. Even though you were a little disappointed...we still do need to do the science center soon I hope!!!
Yeah Natural History Museums sound cool, but end up not so much. I have checked your blog out to get updated on things. I didn't know you hurt your wrist? how and when? I am quite envious that you get to Disneyland so often and you don't have to rush to anything to fit it all in, you can go and ride two things and be done. I might update my blog this week. Emron will be in California so I will have more time on my hands.
My boys would love that place!
Oh, so I take it you are not a history/museum freak like myself?? haha Looks like fun though and that is all that really matters:) Oh and we had fun today too!
I would be ticked if I went to a dinosaur museum and there were no dinosaurs to see! At least they had other cool stuff - and obviously Gwenie didn't care. :) You should go to the Discovery Science Center ... did you know I worked there for a little bit? Cool place.
